Felt a little ambitious with WF yesterday and decided to ask for a CLI on my Active Cash account. Requested 30K Current SL 9K would like to give of some cards I no longer use but would like to keep avaliable credit. Went pending. Received EX pull notification. Request declined not even a counter offer. I thought spending 10K in 2 months would be a winner but apparently not. Will update once letter arrives for decline reasons. EX score currently 765 1% UTI
Sorry to hear this @Harvey26
Is this a fairly new account or did you PC from another Card to the Active Cash? Has it at least been open 6 months?
Also, I am "guessing" that you called and asked for the CLI on the phone and they said proceeding without a SP wouldn't be possible so you agreed to the HP to proceed?
I read a lot about SP CLI's with WF and not too often about HP CLI's.
Way too soon on that request. At least give it until the 6 month mark.
@cashorcharge Yeah only had it for 3 months. Lesson Learned

Agreed...at the 6 month mark...call them and ask if a SP CLI increase is possible? The rep on the phone will be able to tell you before the HP if they can proceed without it. That's your indicator....

Yeah, way too premature as others have mentioned already -- regardless of spend. This is like diving in a pool only 1 foot deep.
On the upside, you took one for the team 😂 Your DPs will definitely help others who may be curious as to how soon to request one. If the SP option doesn't yield anything, then bow gracefully and try again down the road. Unless, HPs are of no concern.
Nice set of cards!
Hi sorry for your denial on your request for credit increase. Wells Fargo will not budge on the six months rule, but after the six months point you can request increases every 120 days like clock work with a hard pull. I have a Wells fargo Propel card that went from 7K to 25K in 2 years with out a hard pull. Good luck.
