Last night I applied for a Chase Hyatt card, but I didn't get instantly approved. Now I have to wait 7-10 business days to get an answer. Hopefully I get approved, fingers crossed. But if I don't? Can I speak to someone on the phone to have them look at my file again? This card I'm only going to use for work-related expenses, for which I get reimbursed anyway, I travel a lot since I'm in Technical Sales. I'm asking because I have read here that some people call the bank regarding their application, and after doing so they get approved.
You can call this number to check on app status and to speak to representative regarding it: 800-945-2000. Anytime I apply and get a wait message I always call to see what I can do to expedite the process, usually it is just the agent confirming some information and then a quick approval.
Mine went pending when I applied. I called Lending to see if they needed any more information, and the CSR just told me to wait (by giving me a generic 30 day message).
The account appeared online 4 days later. Sometimes calling doesn't speed things up and you just have to wait.

What are your FICO scores (from a reliable source, not Credit Karma) ?
Do you have any other Chase credit cards?
Have you opened more than 5 new card accounts in the last 24 months?
What other cards do you have, limits and how much is owed on them?
In general, I think the advice is to wait to see what Chase's internal systems do. Calling to bug them can be poking the bear, may backfire on you and result in a faster denial. Letting them work through the review may allow them to just give you the approval.

I don't know my real FICO scores because I have tried several different websites (ScoreSense, total credit check, etc) and I always get an error. I believe it is due to me changing addresses less than 6 months ago, not all websites let me enter the old address. Also, it could be because my last name is two words, I always enter it as it is but sometimes the system screws up and it believes the first word of my last name is my middle name or something. However, I have my score from other websites (FAKOs)
Discover scorecard - 742
Credit.com - 742
Credit.com VantageScore 3.0 - 720
CapitalOne - 714
WellsFargo - 698
No Chase credit cards.
New cards in last 24 months: 2
Wells Fargo secured - $300, Balance: $5
CapitalOne Quicksilver One - $2000, Balance: $200
No late payments ever
Never went above credit limit
oldest card 1 year 8 months
About a month ago I asked here about the Chase SP, some said I wouldn't be approved, others thought I would (that was before getting he Quicksilver). The consensus was that the only way to know for sure was to apply. My Scores were slightly lower back then too, so I thought, well I'm gonna apply for the Hyatt and see what happens, it's not like I have 5 inquiries already.

Always recon! It's amazing how many people can get it over turned because I think the 7-10 day message Is usually a denial
Agreed!!
If I'm not approved, what other rewards card do you think I can get approved for?

Probably none from Chase.
Still waiting, but perhaps you are right. Like I said, I had previously asked here what my chances were for the Chase Sapphire Preffered and some said maybe other said no, so I figured I would apply for the Hyatt card (because I want the free nights) and it won't be such a big hit on my score, plus with only one other recent inquiry it's fine.
Do I have a chance with the Discover IT Miles?
