Walmart Credit Card application

Just this past week, both myself and my DW both applied for a Walmart Credit Card in store at the checkout in the electronics department (I have heard that this is the easies way ot get an approval, also I have witnessed countless numbers of people apply and get approved for the card when I worked there). Both me and DW both have had a Walmart card in the past. Mine back in 2008, and hers back in 2014. 

Both of us were aproved for a card. I got $800 with a 639 TU FICO, and her with $500 with a 610 TU FICO. I applied back on 9/2/16, and she did on 9/5/16. Both of us have not seen or heard of a HP from Synchrony for the card. We both also applied for a PayPal Extras card the same day, and both got notice of a HP from that. What I am wondering is if I just found a SCT for a Walmart card, or did we both get lucky with a SP for a Synchrony card.

If you had to provide a SSN you'll get that HP eventually. There can be a lag in reporting sometimes when apps are done in store as opposed to online. Regardless you were approved that's all that matters, congrats on you and your DW's approvals.

Either way, I am happy with it. Right now it is helping my UTL a lot, because it is my largest TL, just too bad it is only the store card. But either way, I will update if I ever see the HP on my report. If it is worth considdering, I also called the backdoor line to request a CLI (greedy, but never hurts to ask) the same day. Just kind of hoping it wasn't a HP, but either way I am happy for now. Just hoping I can garden the card to a MC.

It's an entirely possible your store card will one day become a MC. And your right it never hurts to call for a CLI this soon, it's never too soon. Treat this card right and it will return the favor, again congrats and best of luck with all your credit endeavors.

Congrats on the approvals, I got the walmart prequal letter in the mail and will be apping once I pay off my Amazon Sync Card.
