Walmart Store Card Criteria

Let me throw this out there. What are the chances of a person getting denied for a Walmart card. To be more specific, what is the minimal criteria one would have to meet?

You can check the credit pulls database website to compare the scores of people who were approved or declined.   It should give u a general idea of what it takes or u can post your scores here and people will give advice.    There are many store cards that are very easy to get and I think Walmart is one of those that is relatively easier to get.

OP, I've created a new thread and edited your headline to help you get better responses to your question.  Please feel free to edit if you'd like.

I received a pre-approval in the mail when my scores were ~625 on TU (August 2013).   I was instantly approved for $300.   It took 6 statements before I was able to get the LUV button to bump me to $700.   Four more statements and I LUV-buttoned to $1400.  After four more statements, I called Credit Solutions and went to $5K.

Start: 619 (TU08, 9/2013) | Current: 804 (TU08, 10/07/25)
BofA CCR WMC $75000 | AMEX Cash Magnet $64000 | Disney Premier VS $52000 | Discover IT $46000 | NFCU cashRewards Plus WMC $33000 |Venmo VS $30000 | Cash+ VS $30000 | Macy's AMEX $25000 | Ralphs Rewards WEMC $25000 | Synchrony Premier $24,200 | Citi Custom Cash MC $22600 | GS Apple Card WEMC $22000 | WF Attune WEMC $22000 | Freedom Flex WEMC $18000 | Amazon VS $15000 | Target MC $14500 | BMO Harris Cash Back MC $14000 | Rakuten AMEX $12500 | Sephora VS $11900 | Belk MC $10000 | Wayfair MC $9500 |~~

620+ TU with baddies aged 1-2yrs+ is pretty standard.... There have been lower approved but as always, Exception is not the rule.

Low 600's and some time since your last bad is a general rule.  just expect a low starting limit at that range 300-500.

CURRENT SCORES: TU: 698 21 Apps / EX: 644 28 Apps / AAoA: 4.4 Yrs. / Util. 5% / Goal: 750 by 12/22

Hard Pull it is..good luck.

FICO scores are your calling card to the business world. Build a negative reputation and those doors are hard to open, find that perfect balance of credit responsibility and those doors open when you desire them.

Re: Walmart Store Card Criteria

What do the interest fees look like on this card, are there any special introductory deals?

Re: Walmart Store Card Criteria

Here's the Rates / Fees page from Walmart:

https://chb.onlinecreditcenter6.com/consumereApply/Internet/walmart/en/js/TermsConditions.htm

The MasterCard version has a signup bonus, but apparently the regular store card doesn't from what I can tell.  The MasterCard's signup bonus is a $25 statement credit for spending $75 or more the day you open the account, and an auto $5 statement credit for every $500 you spend (essentially 1% cashback).

Edited to add: I don't see introductory interest rates or any special deals like that for either card.
