My current state of emotions after calling Synchrony Bank....
I don't understand why I just got denied for any type of CLI from both my Walmart MasterCard and Amazon store card.
My last credit line increase was October 5th, 2015 and I had my FOURTH statement cut since my last CLI on the 18th of January. Now it's common knowledge that Synchrony gives CLI usually after four statements or four statements + one day from your last CLI. I've had two major baddies fall off since October 5th and my FICO TU score is 11 points higher than what it was when I got my last CLI. Come June 1st my last two baddies come off as well from EE.
I only have one inquiry left showing on my TU report and it falls off in 12-18 days. I've run thousands of dollars through on the Walmart MC the last few months and bought stuff every single month with Amazon ($50-$300 per month) and PIF.
The only things I can think of on why I got denied is that I need to wait four months + one day from the exact date of my last CLI or Synchrony Bank doesn't count my October statement as part of the four statements between my CLI increase and request.
My strategy now is to wait until February 7th to ask for another CLI, by that date it will be over four months. If I get denied again then I'll wait until February 20th when my fifth statement closes (but maybe to them it's really the fourth statement).
Any ideas or thoughts on this please chime in.
Thanks
Ok you lost me how do you have 4 statements in less than 4 months....Huh
I've had four statements cut since my last CLI with Walmart and Amazon. My my last CLI was on 10/5/16 for both Wally MC and Amazon store card. Then my first statement after the CLI for Wally cut on 10/14 and Amazon on 10/18. Including this month, that is four total statements I've received, but not four calendar months which would be February 5th. I have a feeling that the time in between CLI's needs to be four calendar months + one day (that would be Feb. 6th) or Synchrony didn't/doesn't count my October statement in the four statements and then my official fourth statement + one day between CLI request isn't until Feb 19th.
Did you call the number a regular CSR, or did you call Credit Solutions?
Folks here have reported getting very different results depending on which you call, sometimes even in the very same day.
Your not entitled to a credit limit increase just because you've generated four statements. I've had my Amazon card clocking to a year now and use it heavily, yet never got a dime more in increase.
CLI's are never simply handed out in exchange for time with any creditor. Your credit profile and income will determine what you qualify for. Don't rely solely on time, number of statements, usage, relationship, etc.

That's great but your entire credit profile matters. It does not qualify. You need to continue to work on it. 11 points isn't much of a change. Your remaining derogs are likely to be what is holding you down. Derogs tend to have a major impact and hold one down with any creditor. They are major red flags.
Yeah I am not sure what their requirements are but I haven't had luck with either card. I have put hundreds of dollars of spend a month and still nothing. My income supports more and here I sit at sub 1k on both cards. Will just have to continue to use them and eventually it will come I am sure.
Did you call this number? Credit Solutions? Is your score above 700? What are you current limits?
Credit Solutions 877-379-8173
If you just called customer service, Call this number now and ask politely again.
My Walmart MC is $6500, but I have a Sam's Club in store credit account that is $10,000 (along with a Sam's Club MC at $4500.00). My Lowe's has been "stuck" at $10,000 for more than 6 months & they will NOT budge on it (though I've never shown the need for more according to usage), so there is no real rhyme or reason to Synchrony.
