Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Thats very good news !

I was going to apply for a second card, but I am not sure if I should push my luck.

Would be nice to get a 5/24 card also, but I dont want to do anything to mess up my IHG app

or upset chase with another app ?

What would you recommend ?

Should I app or just wait ?

Thanks for the advice on the IHG, prob wouldnt of applied without your help !

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Did you apply before or after 12:00 am Eastern Time? If you applied before, you will be double pulled now. You would be apping between two days. You have to do double apps the same day..for a single pull.

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

I didnt make it.

I totally forgot what time it was when I applied for the IHG.

I have a couple inquirys falling off in October.

I guess that I will wait until then to get my 5/24.

I eventualy want the tripple threat from chase for the UR points.

Thanks again for all of your help   Smiley Happy

I will update when I hear anything different from Chase.

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Not sure if the CSR rep lied to me, but when I called to recon my Chase Slate denial yesterday right after being approved for the Chase FU, she told me I got a HP for each card I applied for.

I told her I thought it was 1pull if done the same day. She said no. So I wasted a HP.

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Since it's your first Chase card, call and see if you need verification.

I doubt there was another pull for 80s kid. It's very rare for them to pull twice on the same day. The CSR wouldn't know if there was a second HP or not.

I've done it multiple times. Sometimes you guys are your own worst enemies when it comes to this stuff.
Stop being afraid of your own credit. It's there to use. What is the purpose of having good credit if you're afraid to use it?

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Just called Chase.

They did need to verify me due to a recent fraud alert.

I was only approved for $4000

but I am very glad to have this card for sure !  Smiley Happy

was hoping for a larger limit though.......but its a step in the right direction .

Re: Wanting to apply for my first Chase card but UNSURE !

Congrats! The limit is the very reason why I always apply for two of their cards ON THE SAME DAY(not 5/24 cards) Lol
Glad you finally bit the bullet! I'm happy for you!

FWIW, my first premium card with them after being a customer for years. Only came with a $2500 limit. That was the Freedom. So you did good. After your internal score with them goes up and payment history of that card starts to accumulate. You'll get the rest of their cards easier with higher limits until you hit your internal limit with them.
