Sounds like an SCT inside the window instead of a popup. I would do it in another browser incognito and see if the same thing presents. but don't hit apply walk the order through to the payment page, that's where mines came in

I got a pop up SC trick this past summer and it ended up being an hard pull on EQ.

Don't always trust them.

I agree that sometimes it's not a SP... I've had a few pop up as SCT and it hits with a HP...Now one thing I did that may have been the catalyst for me..I immediately asked for a CLI after I created my online account and the wording there on the 1st one was always a box to check to agree to a pull. I never checked it, but after I hit the submit button I got alerts that a pull was done. It hasn't done it after that when the cards were being used and requesting CLIs...I always wondered did I trigger the HP with the immediate CLI request or was it going to happen anyways from the SCT pop.

It's a hard pull. They gave me the 7-10 day notice and denied me, which makes no sence becuase I have 2 other Comenity cards that I was approved for in the last month.

I had a similar experience with Wayfair recently. I was shopping for some furniture and got the SCT pop-up. Would have passed on the offer if not for the 12 mo int free offer. The pop-up had an 800# to call with any financing offer questions, so I took it a step further and called. I asked the rep if this was going to be a soft pull. She asked if I got the pop-up, I said I had, and she confirmed it would be a SP and only asked for the last 4 of my SS# and income. I was approved for $2500 and went on my way. Today got a notification that it was a HP from EQ. I called and spoke with Comenity directly and relayed the story. The rep advised to "dispute the inquiry" with EQ and if that didn't work she had a physical mailing address to request removal by Comenity. I just did the EQ dispute indicating that " I did not authorize this inquiry" and will see what happens.

Comenity can be fickle sometimes , maybe let your other accts with them age some and them try again for the SCT , I always get the preapproval pop up after adding items in my cart and walking thru the check out process , usually pops up after I enter my address and all that info

It will definitely say Preapproved thought so there won't be any question about that part

Thanks for the info. I too was trying the SCT today, and saw that inner "pop up" and was like hmm last 4 possibly SP so I entered my info. Then I was like OH S&&T is it really? I guess it's good to know it's not. Overstock had just approved me on the SCT so I thought I would try Wayfair and for the 7-10 day. Who knows, maybe they just want to verify my info.. Meh.
