We invite you to apply for our Chase Sapphire Preferred® credit card email

Ok, so I'm totally skeptical of this in the first place since my scores are "meh" at best. But an email came through with that as the headline and a thank you for being a valued Chase customer. It's the 50K bonus points offer if you spend 4k in the first 3 months. I am a Chase customer for my checking and a credit card, so the customer part is right.

I checked for preapproved offers, but with the reports all frozen it wasn't surprising to see nothing pop up. It had a link for the pricing and terms and the APR was displaying a rock-solid number of 15.99%. (I know that's not awesome, but for my scores and history it is.) I just tried for the Amazon Visa and got told no, so this has my hackles up as to what this is; legit preapproved offer or email campaign?

Really? Wow. I thought that was a hard card to get? I got turned down for the Amazon Visa for too many new accounts and too much credit available. (First time I've heard I had too much, but ok.) I'd figure the CSP would have the same relative requirements?

looking at your sig...  i think you have to many new accounts to clear the 5/24 rule they have recently put in place.  you better wait.

5/24 rule? I'm guessing that's less than 5 new accounts in 24 months?

I've only recently been building my credit since I bought my home a year ago. Chase was the third card I'd ever gotten, the other two being secured cards from Capital One and First Progress. I'm also planning on closing the smaller ones that aren't doing too much (Barclay's, Citi, possibly the Amex), but I doubt that would help me. Most of my credit history is less than 24 months old, though.

Would they count being added as an AU within the last 6-8 mos in that 5/24 rule? I have 4 cards but that AU would be 5

Re: We invite you to apply for our Chase Sapphire Preferred® credit card email

Actually just saw this email in my inbox as well, and am a bit surprised.  I've been a member with Chase for some time, but never opened a credit card with them (Checking/Savings/Auto).  My scores are a little low for this card, but who knows.  I won' t be applying though, as I'm in that "don't touch anything" phase for my VA Loan approval.

Hope you get it though!

I got the same email. I have had a chase baddie removed, being over 7 years ago. I have gotten up to around 700 on all my scores. I'm still a little worried based on previous charge off. It's the first credit card email I've ever received, and I have had check and sayings accounts with them for 10 years.

I had an old Co from Chase.  I paid it off, but still it was once a CO.  After I had wized up and repaired everything Chase was on my list.  I applied for a Freedom and got $6k. Months later I applied for a CSP and got $25k.  Freedom had an auto CLI to $10k.  So, you can get back in their good graces.
