Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

Just got the mailer for it.. Anyone have it, is it any good? 3x gas, 2x dining is actually pretty good.

Only issue is I don't see it anywhere talking about a sign up bonus..

Thoughts?

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

Why not add a BCE instead of dipping your toes in the WF pond?

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

I usually use most of my spending for URs.. could you elaborate on the BCE?

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

If most of your spend is with Chase then what benefit does WF provide?

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

Doesn't look like anything more than the run of the mill 3/2/1 catagory card.  Interesting wording though in the T&C that is kind of funny.

https://www.wellsfargo.com/credit-cards/propel/terms/

If you have a credit card with Wells Fargo, have no current balance on that card and have not used your card for any purpose in the past six months and you are applying for an additional card, you agree to allow Wells Fargo to allocate your credit limits between your existing and new credit card accounts, to allow for use of both cards.

This might be useful for those prone to dropping or losing their phones:

Cellular Telephone Protection can reimburse the eligible Wells Fargo Consumer credit card cardholder for damage to or theft of a cellular wireless telephone. Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephones are limited to the primary line and up to the first three additional lines as listed on your provider's monthly statement. Cellular Telephone Protection is subject to a $25.00 deductible per claim and a maximum of 2 claims per 12 month period.

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

The cell phone coverage, in its self, is one reason I have thought about Wells Fargo cards myself . That benefit and it's self, the fact that I have five on lines, probably save me about $500 per year. It would actually even make a secured card with them worthwhile.
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Close to a branch? If so, go in with the paper. And hopefully they can check online and get you the 40k offer.  But ideally 5/24 should be important for bonuses so proceed with caution.  CSR should be your next card!!!

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

My current spending doesn't justify the 450 yet.

Maybe as I start traveling more it would. But currently, the CSR just doesn't fit my needs otherwise, I would love to go in branch and get the CSR esp with the 100k offer about to go away within a few months.

The Wells Fargo has no annual fee, I think. Not bad, I can take off my rental insurance with Verizon and instead get covered by this, saving me money! That is def something to think about, and who knows jfriend33, with the amount I save, I just might get the CSR Smiley Wink

Re: Wells Fargo AMeX preapproval..

The cell phone protection sounds pretty sweet. But with all the legal trouble and fraud occuring at WF, I wouldn't trust any product that company has to offer. IMO
