Thank you for all the replies. Ok so I digged a bit deeper and since I already have the Citi Double Cash getting the WF Active Cash would have been redundant. I was looking for a card that gives me better than 2% on groceries and dining and it looks like the Capital One SavorOne card is the best for me. No AF is a plus and there are no spending limits on the 3% categories, plus it has the same sign up bonus as the Wells AC card as well.
I pulled the trigger on SavorOne card today and got approved for a $10K cl at 19.74% APR.
my score is 815, 4% utilization, average age of accounts 17 years with 0 inquiries in the last two years. First card I've applied for in 5 years. Thanks to all of you for your great input!

@Fastphilly, Congratulations on your SavorOne Approval!
That is a real nice APR for Cap1. They liked your credit profile.
Crazy isn't it?? 19.74 APR was considered loan shark rates 20 years ago, now anything below 20% is considered a prime rate lol.
This will be a paid in full grocery card every month (hopefully lol.)
I can tell Cap1 is a bit more conservative with their starting limits. My Chase Sapphire Preferred gave me a starting cl of $19K five years ago , $10K is more than generous since I don't plan on spending anywhere close to that limit on groceries/dining.

I see an approval - but which WF card do you want?
@NoMoreE46, I think it is listed in the title "Active Cash" "Re: Wells Fargo Active Cash approval question"
You could be having a @M_Smart007 moment? ..or lack of sleep? ..
D'oh!

I've read that WF is conservative with their approvals so before I apply I'd like to ask a couple questions before adding a inquiry on my report.
Is there a requirement to open a WF checking account in order to get the Active Cash CC?
My status currently is four credit cards (3 of them have 0 balance), the 1 card I have a balance on is $2K. Under 5% utilization total between all four cards. Also have a car note (4 years in on a 6 year term). Score is above 800.
Since I have four credit cards already will that hinder my chances of getting approved with a generous limit?
thanks!
No you don't need a checking account and no having four credit cards will not hinder your chances of getting a generous limit. I'm sure you'll look golden to them.
And welcome to the forum.
