I am very intrigued by the Wells Fargo Autograph card. I currently have the Amex Green card, and while it's very generous with its point multipliers, it oddly does not cover fuel, which is one of my big monthly expenses.
Additionally, I find the Amex Green thin on benefits, given its $150 annual fee (which, given Amex's other cards, is likely to go up soon, imo).
I also have TSA Pre-Check, so the CLEAR benefit is redundant. Also, I had the BILT Card, but it was closed due to the breakup with WF, so I want to replace the line of credit on that account. I currently have a lot of debt, including credit card debt, but this is getting better.
My current stats are:
Credit Score: 699
FICO Score: 742
I haven't had any new credit cards in the past couple of years, and I have no recent hard inquiries on my account. I also have a perfect payment history with no missed payments.
Based on this, what are my approval odds? I know WF can be quite particular.
Carry some debt will affect your outcome. Not knowing what percentage, get it as low as possible, under 10% would be best.
Yeah-mine is well over 10%, and it's been an ongoing issue.
That said, I've paid off several of my cards, and the percentage has consistently come down.
I might wait to apply—both to get the percentage down further —and the Amex Green AF isn't due until the spring.
