Wells Fargo Propel World Amex CLI Denied

i was approved in May 2014 for $8k limit. After I made the bonus spend I use it lightly but always charge something at least once per month. After seeing lhcole success with WF I decided to try today. They asked for my max limit. I said $20k. She said the computer thought a couple minutes. Then said I would get a letter of the decision in 7-10 days. I'll probably close this when the AF hits, it had a good bonus but that's about it.

This was with a HP and you didn't ask to talk to credit?

She said there was no HP. Then they tried to get me to refinance my car. I said only if they give CLI.

Well, thankfully, no HP in your case.  So maybe at the 12 month mark?  I suppose if you get a CLI at that point you can keep it or if not, then close and get AF refunded.

I double checked and no HP. She mentioned something about the Underwriters having to review all CLI requests and it being standard practice. I really only go for CLI when I get the urge to app for something new.
