I just got off the phone with the very nice lady in their credit department.
It's a denial. Too many recent accounts. Can't really argue with that. She was pretty firm that they wouldn't be able to reconsider so it sounds like I hit a hard rule. My EQ is showing 6 inquiries and 9 new accounts in the last 5 months, newest being over a month old (I have 7 REALLY new accounts that haven't reported yet but will soon).
She did mention something that caught my interest though. Apparently card applications stay in their system for 60 days. I could call any time during that period if I had any new information to have it reconsidered. Or if I wanted to submit a new app it would need to be after the 60 days were up. This sounds similar to BoA's 30 day app policy where they keep the HP for 30 days. I wonder if WF would consider a multiple products off that same HP for 60 days. I'm not curious enough to find out.
So yeah... not a win but no big loss either. Looks like it's time to garden for a while.
