I really want a WF card because I like the simplicity of paying with it from my checking immediately. I recently closed my secured card with them and now next to my everyday checking it says "see what a 1.5 CB card can do for you" which is the CashWise with no specific APR and under my savings under recommended for you it has a personal loan/apply now and a cash back rewards apply now, also with no specific APR. I have a ton on INQ from March for a vehicle I purchased and an open CA for dish tv that expires in Oct and a paid CO that updates monthly until Dec (not sure why I paid it since they update monthly anyway). My EX 08 is 667. Didn't know if I would be jumping the gun applying for one of those two cards.
I have about 4 cards I'd close if I'm approved for that one. I don't like to have too many cards.
Wells Fargo is hard. If it was a true prequal the box about prescreened credit offers would be there. When I log into Wells Fargo I get the same ads u are getting, they are just ads. Once inquiries go down, I'd try then.
