In Connecticut, they pulled EX for my custom cash and I was 2/6 on inqs/new accounts.  I timed that app during a period when Citi was very aggressively orginating cards - the same app right now might not be approved.  Timing is everything!

It's worth noting that Citi is often conservative with starting limits, so even if you are approved, you might not get enough to actually do the BT you have in mind.  With 3 new accounts and in this current economic climate, I wouldn't bank on a high SL.  New accounts will matter, not just inqs.  Honestly, I would pursue a different BT card with a less conservative lender unless the BT is small...and if it's small, I'd rather just pay it off than shuffle it around.

3 new accounts in the last 6 months is a no go.

citi denied me for this exact thing and they listed for inquiries: "too many inquiries WERE recorded on your CR" & redundantly "too many inquiries ARE recorded on your CR"

It seems like the banks think inflation is causing us to app all the time, when in reality it's us trying to build credit/having a hobby lol

Good luck. All the banks have gotten sensitive. They are definitely getting more interest income too to account for the heightened risk.
