At the very top of this forum, there are credit cards classified by FICO score.
Are the scores used in determining these classifications done by FICO Score 8, FICO Bankcard Score 8, FICO Bankcard Score 5, etc?
My FICO Score and FICO Bankcard scores are all quite different, trying to get an idea of what scores to focus on for different purposes.
It doesn't really matter since that stuff is nothing but paid advertising.
You need to focus on the items on your report more than the score alone.
Your score is used as a part of the approval process but if you have derogs on your actual credit report, those can be far more of a show stopper than the credit score itself. Credit companies don't simply say 'Since your score is 662, we'll approve you for this...'. They look at the whole picture to make sure it fits.
For the brackets above, I'm sure they use the Fico '08 scores, but don't assume just because you fit the bracket that you will get approved (or denied for a higher one). You still have to go through underwriting. Just use those as a starting point of what opportunities exist for your credit bracket.

So the classification of the different score ranges of the different cards is meaningless?
Is there a guide somewhere for which cards fall under which score ranges?
I currently have clean-but-thin credit and am preparing to apply for a second card. I'd like to research the best cards for my score range, but there is a difference in my FICO Scores and FICO Bankcard Scores. I thought the table at the top was a starting point...

How long have you had that one card? Any loans?

I have zero negatives. One personal loan which has all on-time payments and was paid off a few months ago. One Discover card in good standing, very low % balance opened last month. No other credit accounts, no collections, no late payments, one hard inquiry from Discover (according to my credit reports requested last month).
I literally have zero other items on my credit, negative or otherwise. Anything relevant is gone from my report completely due to age.
My FICO Score 8 just hopped to 700ish across all CRAs (i subsribe to myFICO Ultimate) but i have no idea how this correlates to credit card "worthiness" (or which cards i should even consider researching).
Is there a guide that will allow me to understand what cards could "match" my credit file/score?
Welcome to the forum
Like above posters said it is better to focus on what is on your report.
You could maybe post a bit what is on your report like which cards you already have, limits, balances, how old these accounts are, any baddies, AAoA, how many INQ per CRA in the past 12 / 24 months and post this info. Like this members could get a better idea how your profile looks and start making suggestions.
We are here all credit card addicts and know way too many cards
edit: you guys beat me already ..got distracted and typed too slow

Agree. The scores I had at the times I was approved for cards didn't match up at all with the scores listed above the cards.

Give it until you have six months of history with the Discover, then app for an Amex. They will love you.
