How does anyone get a $600 Arrival+? I don't know what to call that.
I agree with the posters above, I would do some SP CLI or even a tactical HP CLI, specifically with barclays. If they see the Citi limit, they'll probably get close to it. Also, if you havent read about it yet, do a quick search on the forums regarding Amex 60 day CLI. You may be eligible for that depending on when you opened your account.
@Anonymous wrote:Since I do international travel about twice a year, which cards do you think would be best to gain airport lounge access?
I got the Diners Club Premier for the international lounge access, and EMV-PIN capabilities, and "only" a $95 AF. This doesn't have many domestic lounges, but the AF can't be beat. Well, it can't be beat presuming they open the applications again some time in January.
All other "international lounge access" cards charge $300 - $500 AF. I have yet to see any "free" cards, with any lounge access, foreign or domestic, and that is not surprising. My Delta Gold AMEX gets me into Delta lounges for half price (usually $25) and that is fine for the limited travel I do.
With any of the lounge access programs, read all the fine print, and parse the sentences and descriptions very carefully, check the list of lounges where you may be flying, very carefully. Many larger airports have several competing lounges, and thus you may not be in the right terminal where your card grants access.
But once in the lounge, ah, then you can relax! ![]()
Do you think I have a shot at Diners Club with my credit profile?

Interesting..
Though your current limits are a bit small..
I would work on some SP CLI's before apping for anything or you'll just likely continue the cycle of toy limits.
+1, once you decide on a card I would heed this advice and try for CLI's on existing cards first. This is exactly what I dont want to see when I apply for Arrival >>> Barclaycard Arrival Mastercard: $900. What is one to do with a $900 limit no FTF travel card?
Didnt even realize they issued limits this low for Arrival
There was a guy on here with a $600 SL Arrival+...

I can definitely wait now

Is your 776 from MyFICO scores? Your AMEX is likely able to be CLI soon, and that and some other steps you can take will continue to add plusses to your file.
The mix of people getting Diners Club has favored better scores, and with a good credit file you have a good chance to get it. The thing to keep in mind is, most of these cards you will have the same shot, although you probably have a slightly better chance with AMEX Platinum since you already have an AMEX, but with Platinum AMEX you are at a huge AF.
The results from the Diners club excitement of the last few months may or may not be the same kind of frenzy when they re-open the applications. You'll likely start to see reports of results once it does open, a few who didn't act while it was available will probably app then.
Good luck!

Diner's may not be so lenient on approvals next app go-around. I got to the party late and got denied when others with similar and or lower scores or more recent baddies got approved for up to $10,000.

I'm 18 years old, I'm a freshman college student studying Engineering at a top 10 Engineering School & I'm looking for my first higher end card, preferably something with international airport lounge access and travel rewards.
My profile looks something like this:
FICO score: 776
Annual Income: $10,000
Citi Simplicity: $6,400
Amex Everyday: $2,000
(University) Federal Credit Union: $1,000
Barclaycard Arrival Mastercard: $900
Chase Slate: $600
Discover it for College Students: $500
Which cards (if any) could I qualify for?
Thanks in advance,
Roach16
You have a good score, although we would need to know which of the three is is and whether its a FICO or FAKO. However, your annual income is terrible (you're a student, its expected). If you still call your parent's house your residence, you might be able to include their income in your applications; it's worth checking, at any rate. You have the Discover IT for Students, which would have been my main suggestion. You might also consider the uPromise Sallie Mae card, which I believe is geared towards college students as well.
For my own curiosity, which engineering school are you at? It's always nice to meet a fellow engineer.
