What does a "Chase Offer" mean?

I have a CSP card since Sept 16. I also have added 4 cards in the last 6 mos, 6 in the last 24... I only have the one Chase card. I have pif'ed every month and have never carried a balance.

I check my account this morning to make sure my statement had been cut and I have an "Offer" for a Chase Freedom Unlimited? Does that measn its a sure deal? Hard pull? I would like to have the 0% apr offer.

Those offers on your account are pretty good and generally lead to an approval.  Definitely would be a HP or two if you apply.

Re: What does a "Chase Offer" mean?

Thanks Irish, I had a feeling that was what it meant... but I am certainly over the 5/24. I really don't want anymore HP's so i would hate to choke up another HP and not get it fbecause of the 5/24 rule...I don't know what kinda of sl's they give either for the FU. I got the 5k for the CSP and have never asked for a cli.

Those offers are preapprovals are a known way to bypass the 5/24 rules just as in branch approvals do.

It's a valid preapproval.

It is not a sure deal.

It will definitely be a hard pull.

There are numerous reports that if you apply from the "selected" offer you won't be barred by the 5/24 rule.

Re: What does a "Chase Offer" mean?

HI Aduke! Sorry, I was in a hurry when I posted the approval! SL was $2,500, which will work, but was lower than I hoped...banks aren't the same as NFCU. lol

I am happy because of the 5% rotating category feature...very nice.

Now they have an offer on my account for a Slate ?? Same screen, just enter income... must not realize I just got the Freedom... not gonna bite.

I have been on a roll and its garden time now.  I really am pleased with the cards I have and ability that I've never had...very comforting!

I believe $5k is the lowest SL on the CSP, so I'd imagine a FU approval would yield a low-end SL on that card as well.  Since you've already got the CSP and established a bit of a relationship I'm not saying they'd start you at $500-$1000 (lowest FU limits I've seen) but somewhere between there and your CSP limit I think would be expected.

Thanks for the input BBS...I was actually expecting about 3k, so I wasn't too surprised.... we always hope for more. lol... I get a $150 bonus with $500 spend over 3 months. I have around $650 accumalted on the CSP ($500 bonus there) so that will make $800 in bonuses and rewards with Chase since opening with them Sept '16! Plus the 5% rotating, so I am happy and I like having more of a footprint with Chase, I love the CSP!
