No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I received a pre-approval for a Home Depot card this summer and took it to get my foot in the door with Citi.
Since then I've been getting DoubleCash mailers about once a month but at the highest APR. The last offer was lower - 20.99%.
I feel if I applied I'd get approved but with a low SL, so I'm using the mailers as a gauge and waiting for the APR to drop more before applying.
It's silly, but nice to be playing coy with the CC issuers instead of feeling like I'm begging for their attention.
If only it worked with my dating life...

. So, I called the recon number, and spoke to a very nice girl. She informed that they pulled Equifax, which for me has zero bad anything, 4-Credit Cards all in good standing and 6% utilization. She told me the reason that she could not approve me was because my credit history is 11 months. Other than that, she actually told me to apply again in May 2016 (6 months) and that they would have no issue approving me.
She told me that the history being less than a year was one of the things she could no override for approval. If it was based upon credit report and scores I would be fine.
EQ=697 and Report is Clean.
I am calling the EO Office Monday morning and pleading my case.
Please let us know how that goes - I reconed after my initial denial and was denied again. I'm still debating on whether to recon once more.

why would you recon again? i understand you took the HP but they aren't like cap1 where recons are regular for them. they stick to their decision more times than not and if you failed one recon i don't see the next going any better...
Because I don't take "no" for an answer lol
Seriously though, I don't see the harm in it and it's worth a shot IMO.

i didn't say there was harm but at some point you may need to accept no lol.
Good point, I'll accept the "No" on the second recon, afterwards I'll just wait until next December when I have more credit history.

You may not take no. So maybe they will put a German speaking rep on the line and say nein. As stated. No point in racing after the first. Unless your report was in error and something new came up. Better time used moving to another card or lender. Citi is just hard core. Can't tell you how long before I got in with em.
@Anonymous @ the German part.
Well I already tried the second recon today and was told they'd look into it and call / send me a letter. If they deny me, no problem, I'll let it go and move on.
