What is the right answer??

I called the back door Barclay number in hopes to get an increase in my card. After a long wait I thought I was getting it. But he had a question about why I have so many inquiries and I obviously answered it wrong when I said I was just trying to rebuild my credit. What is the right answer?? Because of this I was denied an increase. Smiley Sad

I'd like to know the answer too. That's the only reason chase freedom denied me. I've got 13-18 on each. 4 are over a year the rest are from the past 6 months. My reports cleared up a bit and wanted to establish good credit.

You told the truth and that was the right answer.  I know you want an increase but wait it out a few months and try again.  Sorry about the denial...

Re: What is the right answer??

Barclays is very inq sensitive.

You told the truth you got denied. There is no right or wrong answer. Another rep could have accepted that and gave you an increase.

Did you let them do a hard pull or was it a soft inq?

Re: What is the right answer??

tell them the true story, for not necessarily yourself. When I called a recon line to defend my inquiries I told him I was dropping three card that had annual fees, now that scores have improved last few months. Barclays and discover-- everyone wants a slice of the same pie and realize most people have cards everywhere.

Thank you! I guess I should have mentioned APR shopping.
