I’ve reach my goal scores, am done tending the garden for now and want to add just one more card.
I prefer a larger CL to any rewards or such.
I currently have no INQ's on any of my CR's.
AmEx Blue Cash $ 11K
Chase Freedom $ 5K (Cannot be CLI’ed)
Citi AmAir Miles $ 13.5K
Barclay Generic MC $ 7.5K
US Bank Perks+ Sig $ 7.5K
Chase is out of the question.
Chase and I have had a problem back in 2008 when I publicly scolded them for closing my WaMu card with no notice, leaving me stranded while I was on vacation.
Now I am now on their infamous "Lifetime Blacklist"
I had a Discover card for about 3 years that was stuck at $2.5K.
They would never CLI it, so I just closed it.
That removes them as a choice. (Maybe Chase and Discover share a Blacklist?)
What would be your suggestion?
I know there were some great ones that are no longer any good. (like NASA for one).
I’m looking for something that has a decent shot at still taking apps now.
The normal disclosures go here:
This is for entertainment use only, but maybe something will spark my interest that I didn’t think of before.
I understand that I’m asking for opinions here, nothing is a guarantee.
If I apply for something and get declined or an ugly CL (like my old Discover), no worries.
Thanks!

If you're in Chase's blacklist, how did you get the Freedom? Was it a converted card?
FYI, NASA is still good. Was approved for $25K this week
Another suggestion would be PenFed, I got $30K from them 2 days ago.
so, both are good for potential high CLs for you.
Thanks, I didn't know NASA was still an option.
PenFed is one of the cards I am considering, along with another Barclay (World Travel or Rewards Master) and a BofA (not sure which one yet)
On the Chase, I've had that Chase Account since 2003 (it used to be a generic VISA).
That card used to be a $25K CLI before they CLD it down to $5K and locked it there.
It has been in my SD since 2012
Amex platinum

That sucks about Chase. I too was on their Blacklist from a charge off in 1993 from a product they bought out but finally managed to weasel my at back in.
The other cards are fine but CUs tend to give higher limits than the regular banks and without knowing your income, your scores are certainly good enough to get a high CL

There's absolutely no reason for him to apply for an AMEX platinum right now as there is no great offer currently available.

"That sucks about Chase" cracked me up.
Part of what I got in trouble with them was because of what I posted on a now defunct web site called Chasesux.com
My income, about $200K
On the CU Cards, I take it that it makes no difference if the nearest office is about 2,700 miles away? (Thinking NASA)

Hah, that's funny about that site. I can't believe they blacklisted you becaus of something you wrote.
The distance to the nearest CU branch makes no difference as everything can be done online. Even though I live relatively close to NASA and PenFed branches, I'll never step foot in one 😀. With your income you're going to get a high CL with them. I know with PenFed the max is $50K per card and I know NASA has given out some CLs of $40K to members here.
@Tcarson,
I hear you. That site has gotten a lot of people banned from chase. Hopefully, one day you can get back in. That life time ban doesn't make sense as people don't live forever...

Tell me more about that site. How in the world did they track the people on it to cause problems.
