What's my next move?

Hello everyone

I'm trying to work out the best course of action to improve my credit the quickest and get some cards with major banks with real sized credit limits. I started building my credit here in the U.S. around a year and a half ago (originally from UK) with a $300 wells fargo secured card to which i never missed a payment and kept util below 50 %.

In Oct 2014 I cosigned with my wife for an auto loan for my car for 19k and havent missed any payments. 3 months ago I applied for Cap1 quicksilver 1 and was approved for $500 and discover IT which approved me for $1500. I have never been late with payments and show good usage and make multiple payments per month.

My wife added me as an AU on her CSP with a 12k limit and low util which boosted my score a little further. Im wondering do I just wait a year and keep with what I have or do I apply for something else or maybe diversify with a retail card? My income is around 90k and i have a BoA savings with approx 20k

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

My scores are currently EX 711 TU 692 EQ 704

Welcome to MyFico...  You have done everything right so far and are certainly in the position to get some good cards.  What cards do you want that fit your spending habits?  Give us a list and we will start from there...

Re: What's my next move?

Thanks for the reply, I am mainly looking for travel rewards cards as I travel back and forth to the UK quite often. I would also like a good cashback rewards card.

Ok..  How about the CSP? It is a very good travel card.  Are you looking for cards with no annual fees or you don't mind?

Travel card-

- CSP (Bonus can pay for your flight)

- Citi AA card (Huge bonus also)

- Bristish Airways card by Chase (Bonus can pay for your flight)

Cash Back-

- Freedom (current promotion is get $200 after $500 spend)

- Discover (Good cash back card)

- Amex has good cash back cards......

Re: What's my next move?

Manchester United! I thought chase frowned upon new accounts and a relatively short credit history. I also checked the pre qual and they couldnt offer me anything. That would be the perfect card but I dont think Im eligible for that level of card yet?

My 2nd team..  Excellent. Glad you didn't say ArsenalSmiley Happy....  Ok.  Don't be deterred if you don't see a pre-approval on the Chase site.  So 6 months of history?  Is that a fair assumption?

Re: What's my next move?

2 months ago now.  We mainly did it to get the 5000 points. I didnt really realize it would boost my score. I also wanted to start some sort of relationship with Chase

Re: What's my next move?

Ok... How confident are you over the phone?  Because people have been approved with less history for the CSP.  Your profile looks good for it.  What will happen if you don't get approved immediately is to recon and convince the analyst why you should be approved.

Are you up for the challenge?  How bad do you want it? If you want to give it a shot, I will help you recon if it goes to pending..
