Re: What to apply for next?

I think they would approve me, but I got the platinum in April and they have a 1/6 rule.

Re: What to apply for next?

I'm wanting to apply for the discover it unsecured. EQ sits at 626 (that's what they pulled in March when I apped for secured card/denied EQ 530 at the time). Does Discover do counter offers with their secured card if denied, or would I have to re app and take two HPs?

Re: What to apply for next?

See my creditpulls database in my sig -- one person applied for the IT, got declined, then applied for the secured and they used the same HP.

Also, check the Discover prequalification page -- if it gives you a small APR range (3%) it usually means an approval.

Re: What to apply for next?

I tried the pre qual page this morning and it had a big range Smiley Sad
I'm curious if their SP was from when I had low 500 scores, are right now.

Re: What to apply for next?

Happened to me when my Discover FICO was 610 so I just apped the secured card instead.  I would rather have a $2500 secured card than a toy limit unsecured card right now -- I use my Discover a LOT (2% cash back the first year, up to 4% on some categories) and getting some meager credit limit unsecured would be useless for me.

I would say wait a few months if you want to avoid the inquiry just to get denied.

Re: What to apply for next?

Can't see your sig (mobile). Thanks for the input. If I app for unsecured and denied, i may try your higher limit secured. I'd like it to be my fault driver either way as my cap1 plat unsecured has no rewards and my Wal-Mart is the store card.

If anyone else has input on the Discover, if be glad to hear it!

Re: What to apply for next?

I heard it stopped working but see if you can try the Capital One upgrade link anyway -- see if they offer you a rewards card.

Also, what's your AAoA?  A lot of prime creditors will deny if your AAoA is too low.
