What to do about Chase Offer, Should I bite?

Please help me figure this out.

I have a strong desire for a chase card but I heard about the 5/24 rule and figured I don't qualify. Despite that I would go to the chase pre-qual site and it always says no offers for you at this time. I also hear here that when chase gives you an offer it is pretty solid and this is where my confussion comes in. Should I bite?

1. During my rebuilding phase I opened a capital one secured in April 2015

2. Capital one platinum now pc to quicksilver in Dec 2015

3. Capital one Quicksilver

Jumped on the SCT train between Nov and Dec 2015 and also got

4. Fingerhut via prescreening

5. Overstock

6. Jcrew

7. Ann Taylor

8. and HSN that is a total of 8.

As I mentioned before chase always said no offers for you at this time. Tonight I go to the chases prequal with my scores that are due to update within the next week and it says to choose my offer between the Slate and the Freedom? Is it real? How about the 5/24? I have 8 in the past 12 months. Should I trust it? I don't want an hp if this is not real. I also have between 4-5 hp's accross the board. This is what it shows:

I would call first to make sure that this is a preapproved offer.

Re: What to do about Chase Offer, Should I bite?

I wonder if they are not counting the 5 store cards and just counting the 3 capital one cards. I heard here that store cards count towards the 5/24. Has anyone ever been in this scenerio? I believe it is too late to call tonight as it is almost 1am.

Re: What to do about Chase Offer, Should I bite?

I think I may be able to help you with this.

I have 4 store cards from the STC: Victoria's Secret, JD Williams, SimplyBe, & Fullbeauty.

I have a Credit One card that hasn't arrived yet and it has been over a month. My calls to them are pretty futile as they keep giving me the same cookie cutter response.

I have a Finger Hut account from a pre-screen, as well.

My scores are around 610+. I started at 495 in October 2015.

Chase has always told me that they do not have any offers for me, too. However, today on 4-7-16 I receive a promotional email from Chase (I do have a College Checking account with them) about the Slate card. I was a little confused so I decided to go to the "Find My Offers" page and give it another shot. I got the same offers as you: Chase Freedom and Chase Slate. I have always been told the same thing: Chase offers are always solid.

Knowing this, I applied for the Chase Freedom and was approved. It is a small limit but I am still new to credit and my income isn't that great so regardless I am happy!

I don't have permision to add pics or I would add my approval message.

Hopefully this was helpful!

*I have been a long time lurker for years, but when I saw that you were in the same position as me, I had to make an account and add my .02.

Re: What to do about Chase Offer, Should I bite?

OMG OMG OMG. I AM IN with CHASE YEEEEEEEEHHHH!. THanksk so much to the previous poster above that has a similar profile as me and told me it could be done. All of my other cards have limits between 1000-2000$ and it seems that they match that and gave me 1000$ starting line. OMG,I was believing it was impossible because I have 3 capital ones and 5 store cards all under 1 year. OMG. I am sorry you guys but even if the credit line is small to some, I am still in the rebuilding phase and this means the world to me and to get a card that others say it is impossible due to the 5/24 and the 5/24 did not apply to me. I am dang skippy right now. I am having a party.

here is my screen shot. Now I wish I could go for the united  and disney which are the next two that I wanted in order to have a travel card. O gosh you guys. What to do. I am on a high cloud right now.
