Yes it seemed strange to me.
I had made 2 or 3 recon calls back in Feb when I was turned down for the Ring card then.

They may not be able to extend anymore credit but certainly they could do some splitting to get the card open. Be persistent.
All right. I called again just now. It appears that the one which had been reconned too many times was my old application from February.
The new application isn't 'in their system'... i.e., he couldn't call it up on his screen yet.

When I called them a few weeks ago they wanted explination for my inquiries and 2 personal loans I have. It was still a denial but the UW I called did let me know to wait about 6 months and age a lot of those inquiries and try again and I should be good. Sallie mae is on my radar for then
Thread hijack: I also have Sallie Mae on my radar screen. I have a new Barclays Rewards card (just over a month) and a Barclays Ring. All TU pulls. How many INQ did you have at the time you called them and how recent were they? I'm trying to discipline myself to resist trying to app until November for Sallie Mae.

Weird. Like I said. Give it a few days.
Will do

5/26 The denial finally came through so I called Recon.... got a very helpful guy who tried hard to transfer the credit from one of my other cards, but couldn't do it due to my high numbers of inquiries and recent accounts. Advised me to keep on managing my credit the way I have been, and to wait at least 6 mos to reapply.
