This is my first post so any help and patience is appreciated. After reading and learning so much from this forum (thank you to all contributors) I decided to check the Chase site two days ago for pre approval. It said I was preapproved for the Slate, so I app and got instant approval for 4,800. Today it says that I'm now pre approved for the Freedom and I don't know whether to app or garden for a couple months. What would be best because I really want the CSP instead and thought maybe to wait 2-3 months before making a move so that maybe CSP might show up as a pre approval. Or should I just take what is being offered. Any thoughts?

Unless you really need the extra credit card right now, I'd say garden until the CSP pre-qual pops up. That's what you really want, then after that go for the freedom for the combo benefits with UR points. If you get the Freedom now, you'll just obsess over the CSP after the instant gratification with the freedom ends (at least I would lol).
Perfect advice and agree...Unless you're a card collector, wait until the one you really want pops up as a PQ.
@Shoreguy @etx @Yup Yup- thank you all for the great advice. Time to garden! Next step: to learn how to compose my signature with logos

Good luck with that!! There's a post somewhere with advice on how to do it. If someone would be so kind as to link Jowika.
Don't ever trust a prequal within a short time of getting approved for a card. Sometimes they may be using soft pulls that are 2 months old! Don't risk getting a denial by being impatient. Just assume that all prequals are fake for 2 months after you get a new card.
The most important thing to do is give "Kudos" to all those Contributors that you are so thankful for. This is the best way to promote people who give consistent and good advice thereby making the the contributors continue to post all those interesting facts and helpful advice. I would be sooooooooo lost without these forums.
Yup, I'll use no more than 10% util and pay in full for 3 months to establish the relationship. Right now my util is under 20% for everything. So it's time to garden for 3 months and go for the CSP! Thanks for all your help!
Bear in mind Chase's new policy allowing a maximum of five new cards issued by any lender in the last two years. If you wait, just make sure you don't exceed that number.
