If you can qualify, now. It will help your credit account mix, possibly your Utilization. These things will boost your score some. You could try the Capital One one prequalification on their site. If nothing comes up they have a new program if your scores are too low for any other unsecured card.

If these routes do not seem to work for you. I recommend a good secured card, Capital One again has a good one. Open Sky Visa offers one with no Credit Check. Also check your local credit union if you are going to go the secured route. Credit Unions are usually really customer oriented and take care of their customers.
