Why Discover.

So I see around here Discover seems to be pretty popular, what makes it a desirable card to have? Or does it fall into the same lines as American Express does? (Which is a goal card or a sign of achievement) I've tried looking at them, it's one of the few I don't have and I'm just curious. Thanks!

1. 1.5 percent cash back/no minimum.
2. Ability to change due date.
3. Can SP CLI very often.
4. American CSR.

Thanks for that! I get there free scoreboard so it just peeked my curiously. Which card do you have and what would you suggest? My scoreboard with them is 737 (any idea who they use) 3 inquires, no derogs or latex UTI is 14%? From what it says on here Best is to Lower it to under 10% ?

I have the Discover It; thats what my post was referring to with 1.5 percent cash back. You are correct that 1-9% util is best.

Google the credit pull database for the CRA they pull.

I think you have a good chance of approval. I was approved in the mid-600's.

Since when does Discover get 1.5% cash back? Mine is 1 or 5%.

Discovers customer service is the best in the industry.
Everything from the start including how they send your card to you is too notch
CLI are SP's and come frequent.
Rewards are great.
Discover Deals (which tins forget about) are Amazing and really can get you some $$$!
Website and App are great.

I just can't say enough good things about them.

I was thinking the same thing.

I was always under the impression that Discover was 1%/5% after the first year, with the first year being 2%/10% due to the cash back match.
