Wierd Cap One

Got denied for cap one savor one...Fico 8 are - 786, 778, 781. Util - 3%, no lates of baddies. Depth - 4 years.  I called to recon and even emailed the CEO but to no avail.  The denial letter states that I opened too many accounts recently, but my last app was about 6 months ago?...

Sorry to hear about the denial OP. Unfortunately, that's been the trend with a variety of lenders, including Capital One.

So, as you have experienced, their EO is unable to overturn any system-declined decisions. So, nothing weird really, other than the fact that they look as far as 24 months in some cases to determine the number of accounts and/or inquiries over that period. That said, there's individuals that have overcome such restrictions based on their overall profile.

How many apps on the last 24 months?

there is speculation that Cap1 has a X/24 rule. No one knows for sure, unlike Chase. But I have seen speculation between 8-10
