Hi,
I recently went on a credit-shopping-spree, and while approved for Amex, CapitalOne Secured, and Walmart, the Chase/Amazon card is asking me to verify my identity. Which is fine. I don't mind if it means I get a higher total line of credit=lower utilization. But, out of curiosity, has anyone been asked for verification, then denied?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge/experiences
Miguel
I've had verification requests from multiple creditors (Chase included) in the past. I tend to move pretty frequently, so they often want to get some confirmation of my address.
I've never yet been prompted for verification without being approved for the card in the end.
I'm sure it happens in rare cases, but in general as long as you can satisfactorily show that you are who and where you say you are, the approval is coming.
I'm cosigned onto a 14000 PNC now I got on my own in August a $500 Discover, and in September a $1000 Amex, $400 Walmart, and I'm in the process of getting a secured CapOne. Bad idea on the last one but the deed is done nothing to do now except wait until I need the collateral back.
Thanks!
