Will NFCU pull again?

My husband applied and was granted an auto loan last week with NFCU. We were told that their credit pulls were good for so many days( 30 or 60, can't remember.)

If he apps for a new credit card online will it result in another HP or use the most recent pull(last week?)

He doesn't want to take a chance without asking others experiences. Thanks!!

My understaning is that Navy does a new pull for every app

I wonder why they would say that if it isn't what they practice? Or maybe I misunderstood what that actually means.....

Maybe they were referring to the auto loan approval is good for that long?

That would be it because Navy pulls credit for each product that is applied for.

I definitely think they'll pull again.

Especially if it's a different product. Most banks/Credit Unions pull different versions of your FICO score based on what product you're applying for. For example say you wanted a Mortgage they would pull one score using a different version of FICO than if you were to apply for a credit card (usually FICO 3 I believe for Mortgage and FICO 8 for credit). So a score they pull for an auto loan probably won't be the same scoring method needed to calculate their risk to approving you credit for a credit card.

On top of that they take the FICO formula and input that score into their own internal formula as well to give u an NFCU score.

No no Navy Fed will do a HP for each new app , it doesn't matter if they just pulled 2 hrs bf sorry someone gave you wrong info..Penfed is one that keeps thier pulls for 90.days

A lot of times the reps give misinformation , it has happened to me numerous times

Usually they do hp's for everything, but not always. I applied for my navchek and was approved. I then applied for a auto refi 29 days later and they used the same pull as the navchek. This was in 2/15 so things may have changed.

This! They pulled three times for me. Membership, credit card app and CLOC.  They are HP happy.
