Curious, if someone has one of their bureaus locked, and they apply for a CC, will any issues just try a different one?

If someone applied for a card with an issuer that usually pulls EX, say BofA or Amex. And someone has their EX locked, will they roll over to TU or EQ for the app, or just deny it?

I've read DPs of both.

Some will just pull something else, some will go nope, deny, unlock please and we'll recon/if they recon.

Just to be clear, ...cannot condone locking a specific bureau,

as to try to get a lender to pull a different bureau.

It is strictly against myFICO's TOS.

Wasn't looking for advice, I'm not planning on doing it, was just a curiosity.

Well I don't know specifically but I currently have Experian locked and for science I checked to see if I could pre-qual for another Amazon Prime card (I had the Chase Amazon Prime a while back and it was closed by me) and it came back that since I had my file locked they couldn't pre-qual me. So in that case at least they didn't pull another report. I have no desire to have another Chase product any time soon but I was curious about what they'd say.

Ditto. Back when incompetent EQ basically gave all of our data away I had the notion that I would never use them again except for a mortgage app where I was forced, it was a no-go.  Any lender that I informed of my decision based on righteous indignation basically told me take it or leave it.

So no, in my experience they will pull who they want to pull and that's it.  My experience tho.

Well this is not advice, we are not allowed to discuss credit bureau locking or a TOS Violation exists. A poster can be banned so be informed.
