Do not ask them for one early they make you wait 45 days. I got out of it though by telling them the reason for decline, which was account is to new.

I often want to close my 1k Discover it card. Keep reading they are super tough on CLI... Dont know how some have 10k+cl..

When i was approved they told me 90 days before you can ask for any CLI. So i suggest waiting till 90 days of account opening before asking.

Discover will give you CLI as long as you show alot of usage and good payment. When I say good payment I mean good chunks of the balance at a time.

Yep. For example if you do 12mo BT, pay it off in 6mos and you'll see love from them.

Bingo, or charge up half your credit limit or more and pay it off quickly.

thats exactly what i have been doing.  I get a nearing your credit limit notification every month.
