@ACTonic wrote:Hi All,
Apologies for bumping an old post, I'm just always so hesitant posting a new post on a topic already discussed. I'm trying to google a recon phone number for X1, but to no avail. I'm starting to assume that's not available, does anyone know otherwise? I too got an invitation and then denial, their email cited too many recent derogatory accounts, which is completely untrue (unless they're considering "recent" many years ago)… I'm wondering what the data points are for being derogatory so I wanted to discuss it with them.
I've been current for years and spent a lot of time rebuilding my credit and currently I'm just under 700 with $95,000 of income and everything has been current for quite some time. Can I call anyone over there?
Thanks, everyone!
Sometimes it's actually best to start your own topic, that way you can get an answer that's tailored to your particular situation.
That said, I believe they have no phone number to call; all of their support is via text/email. Also, "recent" is up to their discretion. Recent for them may be as far back as 4-5 years ago. Who knows. How old are your derogatory items?
Thanks, Omar. They're 4 years + I'm pretty sure (might need to dig...)... Credit Karma has shown 0 derogatory items for some time, too. All open accounts are and have been current. If they really do go back 5 years for "recent" then I suppose they have a point. What a bummer though!

Yes, unfortunately derogatory items pretty much hurt you the entire 7 years they're on your reports.
Have you checked your full reports from annualcreditreport.com?
The same thing happened to me.
It was during the earlier stage of credit re-building, so my profile reflected a thin file; but I assumed that my solid income would compensate for that, as X1 has made a selling feature to claim that they look at income, etc.
When I went to apply, after the SP, no income verification or anything else was attempted -- which was a let-down.
Now that my credit file is getting stronger, I have tried to reapply, but it won't seem to allow that.
I would have at least hoped for the courtesy of looking at my income, before deciding, but oh well.

Thing is tons of people that make 500k(you pick a number) of income have cruddy credit so income doesn't stop a lender form seeing if you have a track record of repaying debt as ultimately ever lender wants to get repaid. No matter what a perso makes a person can still be not responsible for paying bills and this is proved time after time or live beyond their means. Not saying this is you, but just a fact in general for alot of people
