Re: Tried for the X1 but got denied because couldn't verify income

I have WF and I was able to verify. I have read others have had success following up with them. I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for you. This is currently my go-to card. (After I meet my Amex Plat 3-month spend)

Good luck!

Got X1 denied

They couldn't verify my income is the only reason they denied me. I have DCU as my main bank and sent in my last 2 bank statements, last 2 settlements (I get 1099s) and even sent in my tax 1099s. Still no dice.

Is this an issue with DCU? Anyone else have this problem?

You had to send in your bank statements? Or were you able to use plaid?

That's interesting, did someone actually tell you that was the only reason? Or was that the only reason listed on a denial form?

They just sent me an email stating they couldn't verify my income. Last time I checked my credit score, it was a 689 with TU I believe. I thought maybe my credit may have dropped since then and they saw that but they didn't say that in the email. I make over 100k so I know thats not the issue. I drive 18 wheelers so I don't know if that has something to do with why they can't verify my income.

Re: Got X1 denied

Typically an issuer only has to give you one reason for a denial, there can be more that they just don't list. However, from my understanding X1 is bigger on income than Ficos, so that might not have been the case. Interesting data point on this.

Hmm when I tried using plaid I couldn't get it to work.

Re: Got X1 denied

When I get back home I'm gonna see if they sent a letter and maybe that might give more of a detailed explanation.

I'll try again in 6 months. Maybe by that time the invite will be over and the card app will be open to the public. I waited over a year for an invite only to get denied haha.
