amex denial

So I checked Amex prequal before applying. I was prequalified for the BCE (not recommended). I applied and instantly received an email stating that my application is being reviewed. About 10 minutes later, I received an email regarding the decision. The only reason listed was FICO score being 620. This is good considering the last time I applied, they listed several reasons why my application was denied. Looks like Im making progress Smiley Happy.

Hopefully, by the end of the year, I will have one of my goal cards.

Re: amex denial

Yes just keep working on your profile and you will see your scores increase. Do you know what is keeping your scores low?

Re: amex denial

yes. I have two chargeoffs from FP. Ive been disputing them for several months. Just waiting for a reply from the Federal Reserve-CFPB sent my complaint to them.

Also, I need to get my UTI down below 30%.

Just for data reference and I know it's always YMMV but I was also denied when my score was 619 but when I got it to 620, 18% UTI, 21 INQ I was approved for BC in modifiied terms for $500 SL and when I got my score to 650 I was approved for BCP with SL of $5,000. Hope this helps you some.

I'm not sure if Amex does recons but it might be worth the phone call. You already have the HP so the worst they can say is no.

I'd mention the prequal when I called.

Just a thought.

Good luck!
