apped for 2 southwest cards and got 7-10 day message on both. call or wait?

I applied for the southwest preferred and plus on the same day over the weekend. I got the 7 to 10 day message on both which I thought was weird because about 6 months ago I was instantly approved for sapphire for 19k. They pulled my exp once and that credit pull was my 4th in the last 2 years so I should be  good there I think. I have 2 questions for you guys:

1. With chase, is the conventional wisdom to call as soon as possible and ask whats up or to wait it out? Is there any risks associated with either method?

2. If I do call, should I be worried about explaining why I apped for these 2 cards on the same day? It seems pretty obvious I did it just for the reward points so I'm kindof scared about talking to a human about it. What should I say to them?

What does the status line say? Is it saying 30 day message?

I just tried the 888 number and evne though at first it said its "automated" after entering my social it said "this conversation will be recorded, wait for the next available representative" and I hanged up because I didn't feel ready to talk to a real person.

If they send you a letter in the mail, you're just going to have to call anyway, but one to two weeks after the fact.

I applied for the Southwest card on June 25th. It wasn't an instant approval. The screen after I submitted the app said something less than 30 days. I can't remember if it was two weeks or 7-10. I The email I got right after said 30 days, if approved I'd get the card in 2 weeks or a letter giving denial reasons. I was approved 5 days later. They pulled EX and EQ. Hope you get an approval!

It doesn't guarantee a denial, based on different approvals I've seen. We're you ever able to get a status message?
