Well...add me as the first to disagree with much of that advice; especially these points:
"*Stop using your CCs. Sock drawer (SD) them.
*Work on paying down all your credit cards balances to $0 except one.
*That one card with a balance should be <8.9% of the credit limit (CL). "
Hey there! That's awesome your Grandmother is willing to add you as an AU. When she does you should see a nice little bump, dh's mom did this and he got a 20 pt. bump. Helped with age, I don't remember by how much though. Once that happens and reports would you let us know the results?
Also, have you gotten the additional scores from Exp. yet? If not, wait a little for the AU card to report (you can check that for free on Credit Karma) then sign up or renew subscription to Exp. (sometimes free, or 1$) and get those other scores.
I'm curious to know what your Bankcard scores are. Not just your Fico 8 but the others as well. Mortgage, Auto, Bankcard.
I'm not positive, you should ask this to CareCredit, but maybe your Grandmother could app for it and pay your bill that way. (you making the payments of course) But she MIGHT be able to do this without making you an AU and lowering your AAoA. I know I can pay my dil's bill without adding her......I just don't know if it can be done before hand to get that Promotional Deferred Interest. (That you would have to look in to) Anyway, it's just a thought, never hurts to ask.
If that could work, she might be able to get closer to 7k from the get go, just depends on her credit though plus her willingness to do such. I would respect her answer either way, that's sometimes a sticky subject.
You said you have a "ton" of inquiries, yuck, me too.....try not to add to it if at all possible. The longer you go the better since you've gotten a lot. If you can't find a way to get a payment plan for Dental work maybe you could afford to get Dental Ins. to help knock down some of the costs, keep it til you don't need it then cancel. Good luck, hope it all works out.

@MaizeandBlue, I always love your direct feedback, but for the sake of future readers and for the OP, can you please explain why you disagree with the advice given by the other poster? I think it's good for folks to understand your thinking and not make assumptions. Thanks!
