I made a 2000 dollar payment on my navy fed and paid cap one off.
Request a CLI on your Navy Fed... and request $25k... they'll counter to whatever you're approvable for.

I applied and got approved for 800 on discover it. Low but my foot in the doorCongrats!!
The limit will grow... and you've locked in the 'double cash', which can be really lucrative!
Do you mean if you apply for a Discover card right now while they are offering Double Cash, you will have it for the life of the card? I was confused about it possibly ending on Sept but you told OP that they are now "locked in" to double cash. Thx for the clarification.
If that is the case, I would love to apply but probably with a 630 EQ it's too low?

The 'Double-Cash' promo for Discover is for one year after you open an account, and we don't know when the promotion will end.
Folks who apply after the day it ends will miss out; those who apply before it ends are 'locked in' to the promo for a year from when their account is opened. For a while, existing card holders were allowed to 'opt in' to the promotion, but they stopped that a month or so back... any existing card holders who didn't call in to have it added before they stopped allowing it missed out.
There are folks on here who have been approved with a EQ in the low-mid 600s, but it really depends on the other aspects of your credit profile. Some folks are shocked when they are approved and get a sizable limit, others like the OP are a bit disappointed they are given a low SL... it's truly a YMMV kind of thing. ![]()

Figured I would wait till January. My cap one will go up in Jan automatically then request 25k on navy fed and whatever discover will do.
You might also want to check out the American Express pre-qual site.
The offers there are usually 'solid' if they find a match for you, and they are well-known around here for being very generous with CLIs as well, sometimes as soon as you have the card in your hand. I wouldn't apply just for the 'fat' credit limit if it were me, though... make sure that the card you apply for is a good 'fit' for your needs (they have many... LOL). ![]()
Note: Amex is also known to let you apply for both a charge card and a credit card in the same day using only one HP. It's not technically 'guaranteed', but it worked that way for me, and most other folks say the same. This only works for a credit/charge combination, however... if you try applying for two of their credit products in the same day, the second app won't be insta-approved, and it will be a second HP a few days later when it's manually put through.

Well the cap one i put one nice dinner on and pay off per month. Discover it I will use for gas for work. Navy fed I use for everything else right now. Is there any other cards I should try to acquire for future.
It seems like you've got a good plan.
At some point you might consider finding a card that gives higer cash back for gas purchases, but right now using the Discover you'll get 1% now and the other 1% this time next year (total 2%) which is nothing to sneeze at (this also doesn't count the quarter when Discover gives 5% back on fuel, which will also double). For many folks getting really 'granular' with their cash rewards is a hobby, but for other folks it's exhausting.
Enjoy your new Discover!
