I went to the site that shows offers for current customers. Filled in income and phone for the freedom and was declined. Will see what the letter says. My relationship with them was an auto loan through subaru auto finance that was paid off last May so maybe it's only prequal if you have an existing open account with them. Back to the garden.

Did the offer have a green checkmark? Did it have a APR range or a solid APR? If you are preapproved, it will say it.
Sorry about the denial.
If you want, you could actually try and do a recon on Monday either via phone or secure message. No guarantees but at least worth a shot
Chase it seems is tighting up standards for new applicants across their product line.
Recently they announced for any new mortgages it requires a FICO of 700 and 20% down. From a few of the CC apps I see on here it sounds like they've also tightened up on credit card approvals.
This is why you constantly need to be working on trying to upgrading your credit profile so you have it before a crisis hits. Always maintain and update a strategic plan for goal cards. Assume they could request a verification of income and plan accoringly.
All my just for you pre-selecteds have poofed. I think Chase is tightening up with those on the edges
To make matters worse i just realized they pulled tu and ex. Oh well!

However, be aware that a recon can cost you another HP.
