will be receiving my new diamond preferred card soon.
have seen quite a few posts on the subject, and realize it will be a HP if i pull the trigger.
what i'm asking anyone who has done it is, did they pull the same bureau as when you apped, or did they pull from a second bureau?
they double pulled ex and eq when i applied for aadvantage, but only pulled ex for my diamond. i could stand another eq pull, but not ex. of course i'd love a TU pull but would never count on it.
any insight is helpful, thanks in advance

Honestly rather than using experiences from here in this case Id suggest you call Citi and ask to speak with the credit review team. They will let you know which bureau is required if you ask so no surprises. In my case they used EX for the app and EX again for increase. Explained to the rep I needed to know bc of security freezes on my reports.
makes sense. i'd still just rather do it online. not a huge fan of calling anyone.
might be worth it though. thanks.
i never would have thought they would be able to tell ahead of time. would have guessed it was picked by the computer when you clicked submit.
When my Citi premier arrived this week I put in for a CLI. They pulled EQ. Starting limit was 4800 and asked for 12000 and got the 12000.

All my CLIs with Citi have been a HP on EQ ( sometimes they double pull if the score is low, but traditional for a new application).
thanks for the insight everyone.
today i got a preapproved mailer from citi with solid (altho bad) apr for the thank you preferred.
BUT it didn't offer any bonus points
would i be ok to find a link for bonus points and then apply? or have they made the calculation that my borderline credit isn't worth the bonus points?
ALSO, can i assume or guess that it's an indication i could get a CLI on the diamond card and just forget the thank you for now?
I was able to get the diamond preferred (mailer) and then thankyou preferred (web pre-approval) four days later. Thankyou came with a 200 more starting limit. Have you checked the preapproval on the site? That way you can see if you get the bonus points. I did get the 20k thankyou points for 1500 spent in the first three months.
