^This and why Citi specifically?
Thanks for the advice i wont waste the inquiry. Much appreciated. Citi is the only major bank card I dont have business with (other than the best buy) outside of amex which i cant get and chase who i had a student loan with IIB so i'm blackballed there. I wanted to get the American airlines card possibly or one of the good unafilliated cards, as my city is an AA hub and pretty much any flight out of here is AA.
Thinking of applying. 6 years post bk. 80k available. 3% utilized. 3 recent apps (discover 10/15, venture 11/15, wells fargo yesterday, all approved 26k total) 10+ total apps last 2 years showing. AAoA 2.6 years. no other baddies other than BK. citi not iib. EX 729, TU 715, EQ 700. I head been told citi has a 7 year post BK rule, but I have the citi best buy visa 3k limit since '14. does this apply to the AA card? what are my chances of being approved based on the info given above? anyone denied for any of the reasons that ight appear above? (inqs, bk, aaoa). Thanks.
Not sure about the post BK rule... Have you tried the online prequal tool? I was approved with a $5K unpaid state tax lien.

BK and unpaid lien are not the same. The 7 year rule was confirmed when I called the Citi EO, they will not instant approve, or approve through recon any applications in which the applicant has a BK under 7 years.
