i have been told its just better to wait for them instead of calling the number.

 

I was making note that its been 30 days already and there is no decision made on my app for the Truly Simple card.

 

Fifth Third does look like "old School" when making decision on credit cards.

i m sincerely losing my patience with Fifth Third after waiting 35+ days on approval.

 

No word yet on denial or approval. Will be calling them to find out now. Was told they are slow & believed it. didn't actually think it would be this slow.

i can say definitely i received a alert on myfico for EQ on 2 nd April, 2018. It listed Fifth Third bank.

You should have received an email when you initially applied - typically this email (in most cases) can decipher an approval or decline, depending on the wording.  While 5/3 can be slow with processing some of their applications, it's starting to sound more like a denial. 

 

Also, when they request additional verification, it's usually a letter via snail mail within 2 weeks of submitting the app.  Your best route at this point is to contact them and see what the outcome was since you've already incurred the HP. 

 

ETA: below is an example of the 5/3 email.  My app went to pending status on 12/26, approved on 12/27.
