I guess nothing is ABSOLUTE so how about we agree that it's overwhelming mostly true  

Chase will decline you the overwhelming majority of the time if you have a BK on record. 

So the overall recommendation would be to NOT apply if you have a BK on record but maybe you can be the exception!

Not true I have not 1 but 2 bankruptcies and a tax lien and was approved for 2 chase cards Marriott and Chase slate starting limits lower than others at $1,500 and $3,500 I was post bk about 4.5 years called recon dept explained situation.Also helps if you have a account with them as well.Explined to reconn why it happened which was a divorce cause my previous history with them was spotless.Income length on job etc plays a huge role in there decisions
