navy fed

do they look negatively at open disputes?

 

applies last week got a letter today denied for chargoffs and a collection that is not mine. i dispute the items today and not sure if its wroth reapplying with navy tomorrow while they are still in disputes?

It's best to wait, since from NFCU's point of view there's the chance you'll "lose" the dispute so until it's settled the item will still be looked at as belonging to you even with the dispute notation.

 

Also, you won't have the advantage of a corrected FICO score until the dispute is resolved (assuming it's resolved in your favor, of course.)  Smiley Wink

 

These days disputes are generally taken care of quickly... if it's cut-and-dry you might even have results within a week.  If the item is "verified" as belonging to you it will of course take a bit longer to get corrected, but in any case the turnaround time is much better than it once was.
