Since I've been having luck with CLI, I tried for a couple more credit lines.
First was Apple Card. My phone said "You're Approved!" Your CL will be $9,000 and APR 25.24%. Decided against b/c the APR is quite high.
Then I checked for Citibank Pre-Approvals and was surprised that it came back with Citi Diamond Preferred.
"Get 0% Intro APR for 21 months on balance transfers and 0% Intro APR for 12 months on purchases. After that, the variable APR will be 22.74%."
I say surprised because I went through BK-7 in 2006 which included Citi, Chase, and BoA cards. Discharged in 2016. This year, I've been receiving mailers from Citi and BoA but not Chase.
I've known that the Apple Card coming back with approval is a very good sign but what about the Citibank one given my past BK history?

The apple one is obviously solid. The apr isn't all that out of the ordinary considering your profile history and the fact that a lot of banks are mitigating risk right now with rates rising and the uncertain economic outlook.
As far as Citi, the firm APR is a decent sign and as far as I know they use "pre-selected" and "pre-qualified" interchangeably, but getting a denial after a pre-qualification does happen. Being that your BK was discharged 6+ years ago and your Ficos are averaging mid-700s, I would feel pretty good about that Citi app, as long as you didnt burn them in the BK.
However, with Apple you can avoid the HP if you app and are denied, Citi is going to be a HP either way.
I don't think pre selected means much. I don't know how reliable Citi's online prequal is these days, since it was gone for a while and although it used to be fairly solid back in the day, nowadays, I'm not so sure - even with a single APR.
Well, I definitely burned Citi and BoA way back in the 2006 BK-7. That's why I was surprised getting mailers from both places. I thought I would never hear from them again!

Keep in mind that the 'mailers' are typically outsourced by a third party on behalf of any financial institution. Typically, no in-depth report or cross-checks are performed on whether you burned them or not. It's usually once you pull the trigger when you'll know if a lender has you on a blacklist of some form.

Was the pre-selection you were referring to on their website after filling out the form, or was it a mailer? If it was a mailer I would probably consider that much less reliable.
I've received mailers from Citi. But the result that I posted was from their website.
