That sounds slow, I'd call Chase credit analysts now and see if you can accomplish it on your own faster since you already applied.

Re: "Thin file" bc my only CC doesn't report to agencies. How to move forward?

Thanks for the suggestion--to clarify, I should hear back from my contact today or Monday, and from there I should have an answer as to whether I can expect a card in the mail or not. But I appreciate the phone number. If I have not heard back from her by Tuesday, I'll certainly utilize it.

It's hard to believe that I'm so impatient now when I spent months cooling my heels over the dream that someday I'd get a CSP. Ah, well. Some sort of psychology trick.

If still apply for some other credit... Having just 1 reporting and 2 with Chase only is not a good idea

Re: "Thin file" bc my only CC doesn't report to agencies. How to move forward?

Hi all,

I figured it was about time for another update. My private bank contact was very quick--I had to confirm my identity with a scan of my social security card, and the next morning at 9am I had an email saying I had been approved with a $2.5k limit. My card should arrive today (2 day UPS). The ability to cut through the bull**bleep** of Major Corporation Syndrome (automated phone trees, run-arounds, never talking to the same person, etc.) should be a selling point if any of us win the lottery and have the assets to join JP Morgan.

I'm really looking forward to the pairing of the CSP (which I essentially have in my JPM Select) and the Freedom for miles and cash back.

Thanks so much again to all of you for your assistance and advice. It was a great first experience with this forum and I'll certainly come back to ask questions or share advice if someone's in the same position. I'm checking the 'email me if someone replies' box, so if you're someone in the same situation seeing this a year down the line, reply to this message and I'd be happy to offer further perspective!

Now I have to think about how many months I should spend with this card before I can consider getting my free credit score and possibly doing apartment hunting. (Not to mention switching over to T-Mobile--which I wasn't able to do before because they couldn't verify my identity without credit history. What an awkward situation that was.)

Best wishes to you all.

Congrats on the chase approval.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Congrats on the approval!  It's good that they were able to give you the benefit of the doubt considering your prior relationship with them.
