think I'm back from rock bottom..... should I?

so it's been like forever since last posting, put my head down and cleaned things up from my divorce, now after climing 170 points from EQ alone. I just out of curiosity applied for amex blue cash got a 8k cl aproval, and went for USAA signature and hit a 6k cl win.  I have always had the top 4 from years past. visa,MC,AMX,DS etc. pretty much burned them all in my past. burned because i settled them all for less than full balance, question is even after 7 years do some hold a grudge? went for a capitol one on my recent cc app spree and got denied. they were one of those bad ones 7+ years ago.

was thinking of going for citi costco because i do use costco quite often and never had a citi...

is it too soon to go for another cc or should i wait for the amex and usaa report to go for another?

Hi OP.

Yes, there are some lenders that definitely have longer memories.

Besides the recent 2 approvals, what other CCs do you have? Any loans or other tradelines (open/closed)? Any negative items?

Cap1 has no memory at all.  You can get a Cap1 in as little as 6 months post discharge. Barclays never forgets.  Chase, you will have to fight your way back in about 7 years later.

Good luck

Hi OP

First, I want to congratulate you on clawing your way back. 170 points, oh my. Quite impressive indeed.

Second, two prime approvals and a mortgage in less than 6 mos are a win. IMHO, I say hold off for a couple of months. Let them get to really trust you again. Then, do your AmX 3X CLI request. Afterward, apply for your third card. And, if you get declined, just take another 3-mo breather.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: think I'm back from rock bottom..... should I?

thx, it was a nice surprise to me, both on how fast my fico is recovering and the 2 new cca's. I was thinking a breather myself with AZEO approach alternating between the 2 new prime cards after the Cap 1 denial.

how does one go about the AMEX 3X CLI ?

btw lost 5,6 and 6 points on the cb's this morning. assuming consiquences of the multiple HP's. I'm hoping the new cc's report sooner than later to see any instant fico point change from the CL increases.

On day 62–it’s really 61 but just to be sure—log into your account and ask for 3X your CL. If AmX feels its too much, they’ll counter.
