For what it is worth, I had a Chase Slate, Sapphire, Sapphire Preferred, Hyatt and Marriott Premier open simultaneously before I combined them all into my current Marriott limit in my sig (I did have to give up about $5K to have the one large limit), so multiple cards is not an issue. Good luck!
I'll be looking to combine my chase cards next year. Can you expand on why you had to give up 5k to get the one large limit from chase? Thanks
Hi,
Generally I believe that the normal CSR can combine your limits for you. When I asked about combining mine into one card, the CSR stated that an Analyst would have to assist me due to the amount of the credit allocation request. The Analyst was friendly and asked me all of the normal questions (Income, Employer, etc.) and also did a SP. After that one by one she went through the four cards I wanted to combine into the Marriott Premier card and told me how much of the line on each card I could allocate. I ended up losing $800 on the Slate, $1200 on the Sapphire, $1200 on the Sapphire Preferred and $1400 on the Hyatt that they wouldn't let me transfer over to my Marriott Card (So total of $4,600 I couldn't transfer over). I will add that at no time did they tell me that I had to close those other cards, however, I didn't really want all those additional cards with small limits. Hope this helps.

Thanks it does. Did they say why you couldn't transfer the whole amounts though?
They wanted to do a HP to transfer the remaining credit lines and I wasn't willing to take the hit at the time. If you are willing to take the hit it is very possible that you can transfer everything.

I see. Thanks for that info. A HP probably won't happen next year for me either.

@Anonymous wanted to follow-up. I app'd and got approved for the Chase Disney Premier Card @ $10K today and they gave me the option of reallocating credit to and from the card so if you are willing to take the HP (if requested, they might not even ask you) I believe you maybe be able to combine everything. The rep made it seem that they want you to have no activity on the cards you are closing to transfer all the credit away, otherwise, they are going to want to keep $500 on that trade line.
I did get approved for the Hyatt card and it is on the way.
Thank you for letting me know about the backdoor numbers.
I read some where - that if it stays as a 30 day notice you will be approved. If it changes to 7 - 10 day notification you are denied.
My notification was always 30 days. FYI
Thanks for all of the input.
Congrats, what's your SL on Hyatt? I've been looking at this card
My CL is 5K
