We all spazz sometimes when we try new things like a CLI from AMEX. Just relax and good things may come of it. OR call up "new accounts" and ask them

i will practice patience and restraint....but i am bookmarking your post so if I don't hear by monday I will call LOL... until then I suspect my weekend will be full of attempts to distract myself from logging into Amex to check .....OUCH!
Either / or.... at least they have limited hours... calling in the middle of the night won't work too well and they're closed on sundays

Well called that number about the status and as I suspected the increase was denied.
That operator told me I had to call 1-800-927-0632 to request a recon.
called that number and told him my reasons for the increase in credit usage and the need for the CLI, and he said that it would be 24 to 48 hours and I would have to call back in to find out a response...
oh well, at least I know a little more, and I will keep watching my amex account and hope that between now and friday they grant the request.
I do have to say that both these operators (in India based on their names and accents) were less than interested fairly rushed to get me off the phone. Not particularly rude but not particularly helpful or friendly.
